Brooks, Jackson, Little & May Inc., a consulting and forensic engineering firm headquartered in Baton Rouge, LA with a satellite office in Jacksonville, FL, is seeking applicants for staff engineer/investigator. The firm has been in business 30 years and its principles possess over 200 years of combined engineering experience in electric utility design, operations and maintenance. The firm’s forensic engineering services are specialized in analysis and reconstruction of accidents/incidents involving high- and low-voltage power and control systems, electrical equipment failures, electrical contact, shock and arc-blast injuries and fatalities, fire/explosion origin and cause determination, and electrical safe work practices.  Our clients, inclusive of IOUs and electrical cooperative utilities, are located throughout the U.S. The ideal candidate must be a registered Professional Engineer (multi-state a plus) with experience in electric utility system design, operation and maintenance. The candidate must be proficient in technical writing and must possess quality public speaking skills.  An interest in fire science and becoming certified as a fire origin and cause investigator is required. Experience in industrial/heavy commercial electrical distribution systems and knowledge of the NESC, NEC, OSHA regulations, IEEE standards, ANSI standards and NFPA standards is also a plus. Compensation consists of a base salary plus performance bonuses based upon qualifications and the ability to become a productive member of the firm.
